STARTING IN JUNE WE WILL BE OFFERING SESSIONS WHICH CONSIST OF 4 CLASSES IN A ROW (Mon-Thurs) SAME INSTRUCTOR/TIME EACH DAY
THIS WILL BE AN EXCELLENT OPPORTUNITY TO IMPROVE ON EXISTING SWIM SKILLS AS WELL AS ACQUIRE NEW ABILITIES THROUGH CONTINUITY AND REPETITION

Stage 1 Parent and Me (6 months to 18 months)
Water acclimation using fun songs, movements and games; face immersion; kicking; backfloat; rollover from tummy to backfloat.
Stage 2 Parent and Me (18 months to 3 years)
Water acclimation using fun songs, movements and games; face immersion; kicking; backfloat; rollover from tummy to backfloat; safety swim from bench.
Stage 1 Group
Acclimation to water; able to keep face in water for 5 to 7 seconds at a time; able to float on tummy; able to float on back 20 seconds; glides with “rocket arms” 2 to 3 feet; kicks with rocket arms up to 5 feet; transitions from streamline to back float; transitions from backfloat to streamline; perform safety swim; all skills performed with face in the water.
Stage 2 Group
Glides with “rocket arms” 5 feet; kicks with “rocket arms” 10 feet; begin freestyle “ice cream scoop” arms; elementary back stroke; pop up breathing; seated dive; dolphin kick; able to swim underwater 15 feet; tread water 45 seconds; perform safety swim; all skills performed with face in the water.
Stage 3 Group
Swim unassisted with pop up breathing for 20 to 30 seconds; Swim freestyle with proper arm strokes and kicks; side breathing; backstroke; kneeling dive; able to tread water 60 seconds; dolphin kick length of pool; able to swim under water 1/2 pool length; survival float 5 minutes.
Stage 4 Group
Breaststroke with proper arms and legs; flip turns; able to tread water for 60 plus seconds; Butterfly stroke with proper arms and legs; front and back flip turns; swim underwater over half pool length; survival float 7 minutes.
Drowning is a leading cause of death for children younger than 5, and the CPSC estimates that each year nearly 300 children drown and more than 3,200 end up in hospital emergency rooms because of
submersion injuries.
